Previous Events..
5th September 2011- Food Bank Sorting Day. - Over the past month of Ramadhan, the YC has been collecting Food items for Food Bank. A group of volunteers met up to collect the item from mosque, deliver and sort the food items at Food Bank.
7th August, 14th August and 28th August- As a community we created a piece of wall art with the 99 names of Allah.This will be displayed at the Eid Festival on 3rd September in Campbell Park. All ages are welcome so please do come along. Individuals also did some artwork on canvases with the names of Allah on them.
27th August 2011- BBQ night - From the youth commitee the girls organised a comedy sketch, pass the parcel and nasheed chairs. Young girls and older ladies joined in the fun and had a great laugh. Also we sold Milkshakes to raise money for the famine in Somalia, which was successul.
May 2011 - Cake Sale for Bahrain - The event was very successful and we managed to raise £1000.
7th May 2011- One day Tuition/Revision Course. Dr Mahmoud Datoo led the course, it was aimed at students who are studying GSCEs. We had a really good turn out with over 15 students attending. The feedback was great and are hoping to run another course for A-level Students in the near future.
13th May 2011- Amaals/ Prayers for the distressed around the World. This event included presentations on Libya, Bahrain, Yemen, Japan and Syria and the crisis they are in. This night was to pray for them and remember them in their time of need. Prayers were led by Syed Mohammed Naqvi.
4th March 2011- Question Time. Interesting topics and veiws were discussed with audience interaction.
25th January 2011- Chehlum Juloos.
14th-16th January 2011- Eid Ul Adha food project, youth from MK got together to raise £150 for the London homeless food project.
16th December 2010- a number of youth went to make Sherbert for the day of Ashura.
10th-16th December 2010- Muharram classes for children.Approximately 15 children attended classes on a daily basis during the 12 days of Muharram.
5th December 2010- Xscape Tobogganing trip where 28 youth got together to tackle the slopes at the Snozone.
18th September 2010- Eid Dinner for younger girls.
18th September 2010- Foodbank appeal. During the month of Ramadhan the youth ran a foodbank appeal where members of the community were asked to donate tinned and dry food to be distributed to the homeless in Milton Keynes by Foodbank a local charity. 10 volunteers went along to the Foodbank centre to help put food parcels together ready for distribution.
10th September 2010- Hadith-e-kisa-play. 15 young girls particpated in the play shown to the ladies. The play was very informative and protrayed the event of Kisa.
3rd September 2010- Girl Sehri night. All girls 10yrs + camped overnight at the centre; there was a mixture of religious and fun activities held.
2nd September 2010- Pakistan flood appeal. The whole community came together during the day to pack boxes of food to be sent to the victims of the recent floods in Pakistan.
11th August 2010- Ramadhan classes for children aged 4-16, classess were held daily for children to learn Quran and Duas. Approximately 20-30 children attended the classes taught by the youth of Milton Keynes.
20thJune 2010-Charity Day- Fundraising event to raise money for WIPAHS and the Cancer unit in Tanzania and Muslim Hands.
